WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT

I am a human being.  That is not controllable.

I am human.  That is controllable.

WHAT MATTERS

The will to think.

And the skill to think.

Cruel Kindness or Kind Cruelty

That is what most feeding is.

People mean to be kind and that is why they overfeed others.

It turns out to be cruelty because it is overfeeding.

It is possible and thoughtful to let people help themselves.

There may be other ways of impressing people, if the intention is to impress.

Who asks the question

If I ask the question, it is self examination.

If you ask the question, it is a charge or worse.

It is not treated as a help.

Celebrating Birthdays

Some do it the traditional way.  Visiting temples, having pujas etc.

Some do it the ‘modern’ way as well.

Some do it only the modern way. Blowing candles and eating cakes.

They do not even know the traditional date of their birthday

And they are proud of this fact..

Won’t you call it slavery complete? Or conversion complete?

Did not Macaulay say: Make them ashamed of their language and all and the slavery will be complete

How to be a gentleman ; How to be a lady

I wish there is a standard course.

And a certificate of attendance.

Just like the marriage preparation course and certificate.

It does not assure gentlemanly, ladylike behaviour.

It does something to the individual though.

Life will be smoother and better with this ‘preparation’.
